Reviews for Dawn's Creole Restaurant, Lower Bay Beach
Review highlights
Based on 135 reviewsDawn's Creole Restaurant at Lower Bay Beach is widely praised for its authentic and well-prepared local Creole cuisine, featuring fresh seafood and flavorful dishes like curry and fish specials. Guests appreciate the restaurant’s peaceful garden setting, clean and inviting atmosphere, and attentive, courteous service that enhances the relaxed island dining experience. The portions are generally viewed as sensible and satisfying without being excessive. Additional highlights include quality coffee, homemade baked goods, and a display of local artwork. While the establishment operates on a cash-only basis and maintains a leisurely pace typical of island dining, it is recognized for offering a consistently pleasant and memorable meal in a charming, tucked-away location.
Dawn's is such a great local place to eat, tucked away in a lovely green space right at the end of lower bay. We've had dinner there twice this year. The food was excellent - fresh fish and vegetables, and sensibly sized portions (we really dislike large platefuls). The staff were courteous and kind, and made for a peaceful, enjoyable evening. As others have noted Dawn's is cash only.
Great little hideaway for breakfast and lunch ! Clean and well kept. Yellow Finches were nice to see. Local artist work on the walls to purchase. Good coffee and omelette to be had w toast and homemade banna bread. I'll come back.
Great spot for well-made local cooking! Dawn is very sweet. The restaurant is tucked in a quiet little garden, very clean, and welcoming. I had the conch curry – simple, tasty, perfectly cooked conch, and a reasonable portion for lunch.
We had a wonderful meal at Dawn’s. The food and service was excellent. Highly recommended for dinner.
Great chicken curry, and faster service than what you find in most of lower bay! (don't get me wrong, definitely still on island time, but it won't be a 3-hour meal). I imagine the menu changes, but the catch of the day was prepared well and chicken was super tender. This seems to be the same place as Dawn's Creole Restaurant (on maps), but this is closer to the right location.
My husband and I walked into Dawn’s tonight without a reservation (make one) and even though they were wrapping up for the night they were able to seat us. We are so glad they did because we both loved our meals. We got the fish and the beef and shared both & already planning on making a reservation to come back later in the week. Make sure you call ahead and don’t miss dining here. They also serve breakfast and lunch which we will be going to this week as well. Thank you Teeny! (I hope I spelled your name right)
Dawn’s is a gem in paradise. The garden and outdoor seating are lovely. The building is a vibrant Caribbean blue and green, very welcoming with amazing ambiance. The staff are very nice and provide excellent service. Now for the best part, the food, it is amazing! I had the fish dish for dinner which included red snapper cooked to perfection and a medley of vegetables that were equally delicious. I came back for lunch to enjoy the conch curry and was pleased with the presentation and thrilled with the flavor. This is going to be my go to while in Bequia, for sure.
Beautiful little cafe, pleasant and calm with good shade. Great for breakfast and very friendly
